My favourite Buddha's
62My favourite Buddha's
I have a collection of Buddhas but these are 3 of my favourites. It gives me joy just looking at them.
1. Gold Leaf Buddha
The first one is a carving from a large piece of teak wood which is cut into 3 pieces. It is then coated with gold paint. One has a choice to either display all 3 panels close to each other or to place each panel slightly apart. The effect is distinctively different. Also, it is great when lit at night with tea lights. It is gives my home a calming and peaceful feeling.
2. Buddha within Port Jackson fig bonsai
This is an absolute piece of art which I fell in love with many years ago. The Buddha head is carved from a piece of hebel rock by Sydney artist Melissa Beowulf. The bonsai is a Port Jackson fig which has its roots grown around the curvature of the hebel rock carving. It was created by Sydney's foremost bonsai master Thor Beowulf. This plant weighs about 25kg.
3. Bronze Buddha head
This is a bronze carving of Buddha's head and is a dramatic piece of art on my balcony.
4. Sleeping Buddha head
This Buddha head is made of clay and is one of my favourites when lit with tea lights.

That's some collection of buddhas!
Hi Awsydney....amitabha....great hub!
I love all the Buddhas. I think the one that grabs me the most is the bronze Buddha on your balcony. I'll bet your home is very tranquil. I think you've inspired me to add a Buddha somewhere in my yard as well. Thanks!
